I just learned today that ABC Family has decided not to renew "Kyle XY" for a fourth season. This is a surprising development for everyone considering that the series finale won't be able to answer all questions, a cliff hanger of a sort. The network executives did not explain the reason behind the cancellation although it could be attributed to the less-than-favorable ratings the show generated when the third season started last Jan. 12 (only 1.5 million viewers). I think the decline in ratings was caused by the long interval between seasons (Season 2 ended last March 17, 2008) and the ho-hum promotion for the 3rd season.
It means, I'm just going to look forward to the remaining six episodes of the show this season. However, there may be a ray of hope since more than 700 petitioners have so far supported the campaign to save the show (myself included) via the petitionspot website (www.petitionspot.com/petitions/savekylexy).

I'm terribly saddened and angry at ABC Family's decision to cancel Kyle XY. It's my favorite show and the only reason I tune into that network. Consider my viewership of ABC Family canceled as well!
